Online Personal Training Fees in different cities of India
Just as the cost of living varies in different cities, online personal training cost also varies accordingly.
A personal trainer may charge higher in Delhi NCR than in Dehradun or Chandigarh. The reason is the overall expenses are higher in Delhi in comparison to the other two cities.
Further, people are willing to pay more for personal coaching in metropolitan cities. It also indicates higher demand for personal coaches.
So a trainer in Delhi may charge Rs 1,000 and another may charge Rs 750 in Dehradun or Chandigarh. The convenience costs will vary as well.
But when it’s about online personal training, the rates are almost the same throughout India. It’s because the costs, the time, and other resources associated with conducting online training sessions (group and one-on-one) are somewhat constant, irrespective of the place you live in India.
To give you an estimate of personal training costs in different cities of India, I’ve compiled all the information in the table below after consulting fitness coaches serving at various locations.
Location | Online Personal Training Fees (Per Session) |
Delhi NCR | Rs 500 to Rs 2,500 |
Dehradun | Rs 500 to Rs 1,500 |
Chandigarh | Rs 500 to Rs 2,000 |
Bengaluru | Rs 1,000 to Rs 3,000 |
Mumbai | Rs 1,000 to Rs 5,000 |

Cost of Online Personal Training Packages (Also called Programs)
The best way to save money and experience transformation: enroll in an online personal training package, also called transformation programs.
Besides getting hefty discounts on these packages, you start on a fitness journey under the supervision of a trained instructor who helps you with exercise and nutrition. As a result, you achieve your goals earlier than expected.
Here’s the list of online personal training programs you can consider. For simplification, I’ve assumed 5 sessions per week. That comes down to approximately 20 sessions a month, 60 sessions a quarter, 120 sessions a half-yearly, and 240 sessions a year.
Duration | Online Personal Training Cost |
1 session (45 minutes to 1 hour) | Rs 500 to Rs 5,000 (No discount) |
1-week package | Rs 2,500 to Rs 25,000 (No discount) |
1-month package (monthly) | Rs 9,000 to Rs 90,000 (10% discount) |
3 months package (quarterly) | Rs 24,000 to Rs 2,40,000 (20% discount) |
6 months package (half-yearly or biannual) | Rs 42,000 to Rs 4,20,000 (30% discount) |
12 months package (yearly or annual) | Rs 72,000 to Rs 7,20,000 (40% discount) |
NOTE: When I talk about Rs 5,000 per session, that’s the fee generally charged by personal trainers working with celebrities, businessmen, industrialists, politicians, and other eminent personalities. Normally, you can expect the average training prices to be Rs 500 to Rs 2,500 per session.

Factors that Influence Online Personal Training Cost
The credibility of a personal coach and the value he creates for clients have a direct influence on the personal training cost.
Here’s a list of factors that has an impact on the credibility of an online personal online trainer. Based on these factors, you can calculate the worth of a personal trainer.
Certification
First of all, you should know whether a personal trainer is a certified instructor or not. Most of the coaches – especially in India – are “self-proclaimed” trainers who may say they are certified, but in reality, they are not.
Hence, while doing your research, have an eye for certifications and accreditations. For example, if you look at my profile, you’ll find all certifications related to personal training, competitions, and other accomplishments.
Skills & Expertise
A certified personal coach can help you achieve your fitness goals. However, an instructor with add-on expertise can teach you a couple of skills besides helping you shed those extra pounds. Perhaps you’d like to learn some self-defense moves to combat miscreants or want to try out powerlifting or go out on a trek.
Hence, above and beyond certifications, if a fitness coach has some add-on skills, the cost may go up. But it also means having a chance to learn something new and exciting. For example, besides being a certified coach, I’m also trained in kettle ball training, functional training, and Krav Maga (Israeli self-defense and fighting system).
Experience
The number of years of experience has a direct connection to the price charged by a coach for online personal training. The more the experience, the higher is the cost; and vice-versa. You pay for what you get.
For example, a newly certified coach will charge you lesser than a coach having a 10-year experience of dealing with different kinds of clients and producing desired results, backed by stellar customer reviews and testimonials.
Customer Reviews
Did you know 95 percent of customers read reviews before making a purchase? Reviews are proof of whether a personal trainer is worth the fee he is charging or not. More the reviews, the higher the training cost. That’s the norm.
However, do not fall for false reviews posted using fake profiles. Always trust reviews posted by real people, featuring genuine comments, profile pictures, transformation pictures, and more. To get an idea, you can have a look at the customer reviews on Kanha Fitness.
Availability
Personal training charges shoot up when the demand rises. It’s because slots are limited but registrations/bookings are dropping in continuously.
To overcome this problem, some personal coaches start group training sessions, both online and offline. It helps them accommodate more clients, reduce training fees, and provide personal attention to every participant.
Here, at Kanha Fitness, I also follow the same approach and conduct both one-on-one and group training sessions to help everyone achieve their fitness goals.
Training Type and Package
Let’s understand this with an example. Suppose you want to hire a personal coach for strength training, thrice a week. Here, you’ll pay for three strength training sessions. But if you also want to learn self-defense tactics, you’ll have to accommodate at least one more session, taking up the total to four sessions a week. Hence, the training cost will go up.
Talking about packages, you can enroll in quarterly, half-yearly, or yearly programs to save money. You’ll also benefit in the long run as you’ll stay committed to your fitness goals.
I’ve also experienced fantastic results with clients who opted for quarterly to yearly personal training packages instead of the monthly package or fixed number of sessions.
But before doing so, I’d recommend you to take a free session to check whether a personal coach is the right fit for you or not.
Add-on Services
Lastly, the personal trainer fee in India or anywhere around the globe may vary if you opt for add-on services like extra time per session or extra sessions per package, customized diet plans and workout schedules, renting training equipment, purchasing supplements, so on and so forth.
Now if you want to work out with one or more persons, you can ask for a revised quotation from the service provider. For example, if someone tells me he or she wants to work out with their spouse or family, I curate a special package for them at a 20 percent discount. This may appear as an add-on service but actually helps clients save their hard-earned money.

Online Personal Training Cost Break Up
When you’re paying for personal fitness coaching services, you should know why you are paying a particular amount. Often clients don’t know about the hidden charges and finally end up paying extra than expected.
Therefore, to give you a broad idea, I’ve calculated the online personal training fee break up as follows:
Base Rate
The base rate usually varies anywhere between 40 to 60 percent of the total amount charged by the personal trainer. Check the following table to know the base rate:
Service | Per Session Rate | Base Rate |
Online Personal Training (One-on-One) | Rs 600 | Rs 240 – Rs 360 |
Online Personal Training (Group) | Rs 150 | Rs 60 – Rs 90 |
In-person Personal Training (One-on-One) | Rs 1,000 | Rs 400 – Rs 600 |
In-person Personal Training (Group) | Rs 250 | Rs 100– Rs 150 |
Convenience Costs
The convenience costs are generally associated with in-person personal training sessions. It’s the cost clients have to bear if they want the coach to arrive at their choice of venue. Hence, the convenience fee is an overhead expense that you’ll have to pay in addition to the training fee.
So, for example, if you are paying Rs 1,000 per session for in-person personal training at home, the coach may ask you to pay for the time and money that goes into commuting. And if you want to train in a gym, you’ll also have to pay the gym fee for yourself and the coach.
Operating Costs
You can get away with convenience costs if you opt for online personal training, be it one-on-one or in a group. However, the coach will still cover up operating expenses required to successfully conduct online and in-person training.
Operating costs may comprise of expenditure related to – but not limited to – software and tools, marketing, salaries, accounting, website & app, phone, internet, training equipment, etc.
Usually, these costs are 20 to 40 percent of the total amount charged by the personal trainer. So if you are paying Rs 1,000 per session, operating expenses are in the range of Rs 200 to Rs 400.
Additional Services
The additional services, also called add-on services, may comprise personal consultations, diet plans, workout plans, supplements, special activities, extra sessions, etc.
Again, these costs are in addition to what you pay for personal coaching. However, most of the service providers, including Kanha Fitness, give customized diet plans and workout plans with one-on-one personal training and suggestive diet plans with group training.
Taxes
A registered service provider may charge an additional Goods & Services Tax (GST) as per the existing rate (18 percent as of now). Some of them include GST in the package cost. Hence, you don’t need to pay an extra amount.
Then there are unregistered health & fitness service providers whose annual turnover is less than the particular amount required to file for GST registration. These entities should not charge GST on the price paid for personal training.

I’ve discussed almost all pricing details related to online personal training costs in India, whether you opt for one-on-one training or group sessions. Further, I included details concerning the in-person training fee as well.
To put it straight, your personal coach should be a certified and experienced instructor who can help you achieve your fitness goals as per your requirements.
You should neither hire the cheapest fitness coach (no guarantee of results) nor the most expensive one (burn a hole in your pocket). Go with someone who charges a decent price for expert personal training.
